Autocheck for new mail - failure

I am not sure what the problem is, but PMMail/OS2
ceases to autocheck with the mail server at some point
and a manual check is required to dnload my email.

Setup is: Account/Account
Settings/Receive/Check_for_new_mail=120s

PMMail Version 2.00.1500

Possible factor - ISP disconnects periodically and
Injoy reconnects

Any ideas?  I'd appreciate some.
