Well, my feeling is that I would set the count to be something around a
hundred or so.  That would allow most tail connection transfers to
complete in one fell swoop, but when there are a lot of messages, the
downloads would (internally) be broken up, and the deletes would be
forced.  Of course, if the box "leave messages on server" is checked
the program shouldn't break the connection.

At this point in time, the POP3 spec is probably frozen, I can't see it
getting changed and implemented in a large number of POP3 servers in
the near future.
