I'm responsible for 6 Windows machines at my job that run a special audio
editing software suite. My experience with these, and the machines of
friends and family that I also have been called upon to service has
permanently left me with a bad impression of Windows.

What is the use of an Operating system that likes to lose track or even
delete *key* system files (DLL's come to mind). Everyone I know (myself
included) has to re-install Windows at least once a year because it starts
running like crap or develops problems. Plug & play?? I don't think so. My
legacy sound wasn't recognized. Worse yet? Windows kept assigning it's
resources to other devices, which really caused problems. Replacing sound
cards wasn't an option either, considering that we would have had to replace
6 - $800 a piece Digital Audio Labs Card-D+'s. I had to manually define all
resources on all add-on cards. Not fun!

You obviously know OS/2 features and limitations, yet chose to switch to a
Windows platform anyhow. So why complain about WinFAT's inefficient use of
disk space?? Why ask the authors of PMMail to add a feature just so you can
have the best of both worlds?? I don't get it?? Are Windows users above
having limitations?? That is why there are other OS's. I recognise your
need your running Visio, I have to run SawPlus 32, which is a Win32 based
audio editing software suite. It's too bad that it is for Windows only, but
that is also why OS/2 ships with Boot Manager. I have no complaints about
using it.

Real software... That works! And that rules out entirely the whole Windows
95/98 platform. Windows 95/98 is not a serious operating system, it's an
end-user, in the home operating system. And that is even more frightening!

The whole concept behing Micro-trash.
