I should have been a bit more helpful in my first message. If you
have received "killer HTML" messages, of course, you can't open them
with PMMail to see what they include.

I have also seen (at least once) that right clicking a killer HTML
message and selecting "save" results in the same crash as trying to
open it (this may have been a fluke, I can't say for sure yet).

To tell if the messages contain the above lines, you will need to
open a text editor and use it to view the message which will be
located within the PMMail directory tree somewhere. For example,
messages in my personal account end up with names like:

e:\inet\email\pmmail\trevor2.act\inbox.fld\FV5G240.MSG

The path will be slightly different on your machine, of course,
depending on the name of the account, where you chose to have PMMail
installed, etc.
