I did know that it now used ip, but I assume they still just use 
it as a transport - their file serving protocols are still 
proprietry aren't they? 

I didn't know they use XFree86 though - I'm amazed! Is it also called 
"Novell Linux" ;-)

BTW: On NetWare 2.x or 3.x, novell used to boast that their system
serviced a remote users' disk read request in just a little over 200 
CPU instructions - that's incredibly efficient if true.
