Well, I've been an aerospace engineering manager for over 40 years,
ever since the birth of the space age, and I've not seen anything
quite like this, ever. It's childish, and worse, it's
unprofessional.

A customer reporting a product deficiency should be treated with
respect and professionalism, even if he is a pain in the ass.
Professionalism means that deficiencies are logged and undergo some
disposition (ever hear of an EO/ECO?). This is the way the
engineering business is run in my shop and always has been. To tell
a customer that 'nothing is perfect, so cool it', is arrogant and
insulting. This whole business is amazing, since dealing with BMT
has always been satisfactory.

It is also stupid. Where else could a SW developer get a large
group of (seemingly) very competent engineers to provide, free of
charge, a continuous stream of product feedback, bug reporting, and
suggestions for improvement?

I think I'll stick with this list if I can because it is populated
by a wierd, charming, and irritating bunch of characters that I
fear I will miss if I don't get my occasional fix. As for PMMail,
I'll continue to use it despite a bunch of stupid bugs.

And, BSW is at the bottom peg of my respect meter. But what the
hell, that won't cost them a dime ... probably.
