[pmmail-list] SMTP authentication

I was happy with the previous version of PMMail, 
however the DSL account I'm now using requires 
SMTP authentication, so I upgraded.

But it's not working.  I've double checked all the 
settings, making sure they're identical to the 
Netscape email settings (which work well, as far 
as I can see -- I've successfully sent mail from 
there at any rate).  But it just won't send -- the 
error log messages are mostly

Sat, 07 Apr 01 08:16:03 ==> 535 Authentication 
failure ; This is the error that resulted during 
the SMTP logon

with an occasional server time out

Sat, 07 Apr 01 08:24:13 ==> Error ; Server 
connection timed out
