I've a few questions which I hope would be addressed:

1.  The latest beta of PMMail/2 (3rd beta / v2.20.2200) appears to
contain a serious bug which would hog my CPU at near 100% and cause
PMMail/2 to exist as an unkillable process even after I've shut it
down. The scenario is as follows:

	I start up PMMail/2. Some accounts are opened and mail
fetching starts. After a while, I notice that the CPU meter hovers at
100% and system response becomes very sluggish.
	I close PMMail/2 and it shuts down. However, CPU usage still
pegs at 100%. I execute GO.EXE and it lists PMMail/2 among all
processes. Using KILL or enhanced KILL, I tried killing the PMMail/2
process and is told that the process has been killed.
	However, subsequent process listing still shows PMMail/2 among
the others. Needless to say, the CPU meter remains at 100% throughout
all this time. Only recourse is to CAD reboot. Shutdown may hang
system.

2.  The 3rd beta v2.20.2200 as linked from http://www.pmmail2000.com
appears to be the same as the 2nd beta linked from the Download page at
http://www.pmmail2000.com/download.html.  Both links point to
http://www.pmmail2000.com/betas/pmm220.exe even though the former is
supposed to be the latest beta. Is there something wrong or are they
the same download?

3. SMTP authentication doesn't work with some of my mail providers as
seen in the error log excerpt below:

Sat, 10 Mar 01 21:48:34 ==> 500 failed authentication ; This is the
error that resulted during the SMTP logon
Sat, 10 Mar 01 21:40:26 ==> 500 failed authentication ; This is the

Fri, 09 Mar 01 09:00:50 ==> 500 failed authentication ; This is the
error that resulted during the SMTP logon
Fri, 09 Mar 01 09:00:09 ==> 500 failed authentication ; This is the
error that resulted during the SMTP logon

I've ensured that the login and password are correct and SMTP
authentication box is checked. Somehow it still fails. Could someone
please tell me whether this is an issue with the mail provider or
PMMail/2?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

John
