But it's not indicating any errors or unsent mail when the default is turned off! Especially 
in the case I described, when one mail sits in the outbox and the outbox is red. 
(send immediately is turned on) Then another email passes through because a connection 
has been established and the first email just sits there, still unsent - nothing has changed 
with respect to this mail - but the outbox turns back to yellow. I would say this is inconsistent. 
Understandably, somehow, but not correct, in my view.
I guess you could "fix" this behaviour by setting the default to "Indicate any mail in Folder - ON". 
(As many have suggested by now.)
