There should be a windows telnet client, maybe in accessories/communications
or someplace like that.

If not, just Start/Run/Command 
and from command prompt

 >telnet -p 110 pop3.attglobal.net  [replace the last item by the
                                     pop server address from your
                                     mail client]
You will get back something like

 +OK (popd) Maillennium POP3/UNIBOX #57

Then hit enter and you will be prompted for your username
(get from configuration window of your mail client).  Key it
in and hit enter.

Then you will be prompted for your password, Key it in and
hit enter.
