[pmmail-list] PMMail/2 and Earthlink

I am evaluating a new dialup account using Earthlink.net.

I cannot send a message through Earthlink's SMTP server.
Server:  smtpauth.earthlink.net
Port:  25
Server requires authentication:  Checked

User ID and password are correct.

When connected through Earthlink's dialup number, sending
any message results in an immediate failure with the 
following message:
 Authentication failed because no suitable method was found ; 


I can successfully send messages using Mozilla on the same
machine - - so the network settings should be correct.

PMMail/2 is working correctly for 2 other ISPs using similar SMTP
settings.

Have I encountered a PMMail/2 limitation or am I missing some
setting?

I would appreciate any help.
