depending on how much control you have over your mail server, why not set it to APOP.  PMMail supports this.   It's the main reason I 
switched from MR/2 to PMMail.  As I posses "god" level access on our network, it was decided to convert to APOP for just your reason.  
So my office account is encoded with APOP.
