No, that is not the case. Windows, even 98, has a bad problem with
slowly loosing system resources. Eventually it is noy possible to open new
windows. Shutting down long running programs solves the problem
temporarily, but you still have a grandual lose of those resources.
Evertually you must reboot. I've seen this happen with Win95, Win98 and
Win98 on over two dozen machines at the office and at home.
Anyone who claims to have a windows machine in *use* and not rebooting
it is flat out lying. That is not a hardware issue, it is purely software
and is part of the OS itself.

That generally is it. I lost mine 27 days ago because of a power hit.
I did have an OS/2 machine run a BBS for 8 months unattended while I was out
driving long haul truck. ;)

Hey, I'm the one who posted to this list, 2-3 years ago that OS/2 was
dead. I'm not talking OS/2 here, I'm pointing out that there are
alternatives.

If there were a decent IMAP package on Linux right now I'd be using it.
I'm not too conerned about PMMail on Linux as I am split about it. There is
entirely too much anti-proprietary software sentimentality on Linux, as it
stands *now* for me to even think about PMMail breaking in. However, as
Linux gets more commercial that may change.
