Oops, a few seconds ago I wrote:

Well, this was a struggle I had a few weeks ago but, like my earlier
fight with Win-OS2 starting for text files, I just checked and my
PNG mime type is suddenly working.

So, I guess I shouldn't have chimed in at all.  Everything seems to
work here.  Sorry. :-(
