Partilal messages left after download

Every so often I have not been able to open my mail with pine while in my
shell account.  This is after a download of the bulk of the mail with
PMMail/2, 2.10.2010.  I have asked about this before, and am now copying
my postmaster as I can't figure this out at all.

There may have been a server arrangement change, I am not sure, but the
problem is stated by pine as not a mailbox format for the file.  Looking
at the file with pico, I see that there are trailings of a message left.
