Problems with PmMail2000 and MS IE 5.5

Running Windows 2000 SR-1 and IE 5.50.4134.0600 Pmmail 2.10.2010

When I click on a mailto: link and have Pmmail 2000 selected as default
mailreader there are problems launching PmMail. The program (open or
not) starts and informs me that me evaluation has ended and that I
should unlock it. Additionally there are no accounts so I suspect that
it is launched with an erroneous working directory. Is this a known
problem, and have anyone a solution?
