    Right.  So let's look at all the options presented:

Send a link:  Person might not have access to www.
Send HTML:  Person might not have HTML devolved client.
Send PDF:  Might not have PDF reader.
Send document:  Might not have word processor.

    What do they all have?  ASCII.
