[pmmail-list] Explain please

Recently these characters are finding their way into pieces that I copy
and paste into my emails or in forwarded sections:

>> =98=98=98=98=98=98
>> =98=98=98=98=98=98

Typically in an area where there is an extra space or tab.

Any suggestions on why and how to eliminate?
