Hello Trevor,
The following statements are not directed at you or anyone else at BSW,
who must face the wrath and unrelenting demands of the fiercest
creatures in the world of business, the paying customers. Since I am
not a member of this group at BSW, you may ignore the balance of this
message, as a response is not necessary or expected and I do thank you
for your candid comments as well as Jimmy for allowing me to enjoy the
spirited discussions on this list.

Any company, where the customer is their top priority, would have an
automated system to access each one of their customers' records and
provide any information to a customer in a matter of minutes as an
ongoing cost of doing business. Add $ 2 or $ 3 to the price of current
licenses or upgrades, if your margin is too low, to avoid the label of
"nickelling & dimeing" your customers by this $ 5 fee. I am sure that
it won't cover the *real* cost for each look-up.
However, it would appear that BSW has a business model from the 1970s,
similar to some of the banks here in Canada, where they are using
microfiche for some records over 1=BD or 2 years old, have ATMs that
mangle pass-books, make elderly customers stand in long lines for hours
without a chair in sight, while 90 % of their employees sit comfortably
in $ 200 chairs behind soundproof walls of advertisements and spend
millions for inane commercials on television & slick magasines.
Without thinking, I have found the solution for all US companies, where
the customer ranks well down on their list of priorities: Sell your
business, move to Canada, open a bank or trust company and your
financial success is guaranteed.
