Running on Win98SE on TP600, this program "performs illegal operation" during downloads of
more than about 9 messages. Sometimes it crashes on the 10th msg, sometimes on the
50th or 60th; sometimes it will not crash on 100. For a particular message queue, it always crashes
on the same message, but if I remove the suspect message from the POP server, it crashes somewhere
else. (Even when I remove several messages surrounding the suspect message.) This leads
me to believe it is not a property of the message but of the program operation itself, perhaps in
conjunction with some state of Windows at that moment.
The location of the crash is always the same: 0167:004dd650.
This never happens on the OS/2 version (which I also have loaded).
Identical misbehavior occurs on a TP 760 which I loaded as a control machine, running Win98.
What is the cause and what is the fix, or what must I do to diagnose further? (I can click
'Detail' and note memory locations and registers, but I don't know how to interpret these
clues nor how to save to disk. Any help appreciated.)
