Which is done automatically when you switch between "Online" and
"Offline" mode. Click the little snake in the lower left corner of the
main window to switch. In "Offline" mode, the "Send" button is replaced
by the "Send later" button.
BTW, normally Thunderbird will ask on switching, if you want to send
your mail from the outbox if you are going online, and if you want to
download messages from the Post Office when you go offline.
BTW, PMMail encodes attached messages (body parts with "Content-Type:
message/rfc822) in Base64 ("Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64") which is
against the MIME-RFCs, but most other eMail-Programs which I have tested
decode this without any problems, except Thunderbird. Have a look at Bug
report #293475 at

It is still an open question if this is treated as a bug or if an
enhancement request is necessary to enable Thunderbird to decode
attached messages from PMMail or other email clients acting like PMMail.
