With PMM/2 v 2.10.2010 running on Warp4 FP11, the reported problem does
not occur on my system when using the solid color palette. The reported
behaviour does occur when using the mixed color palette. Double check that
you are following the guidelines outlined in the help file. I believe that
the preview pane (which displays the message body) is subject to the same
restriction.

Fonts and colors can be changed by dragging them
from the font and color palettes, respectively, and
dropping them on the areas that will accept and
save that drop. Just about any color and font can
 be changed in this manner.

NOTE: The multiline (message body) edit field on
both read and compose windows, these fields are
limited to 16 colors by OS/2, not by PMMail. OS/2
will find the nearest base color to use when you
drop a color from the mixed color palette.
