[pmmail-list] can't send message over 141 kb

Marty, 

Two thoughts:
1) You say that you are using the preview pane.  Have you tried
actually opening a regular message window?  Maybe there is some size
issue with preview.

2) Is this ONE particular message, or ANY message that is over 143KB? 
The reason I ask is, are you certain that the message does not have any
non-printable control characters embedded in the file?  I have seen a
lot of cases that have nothing to do with PMMail that get all bent out
of shape if there are characters with hex values less than X'20'. 
Messages are often truncated, characters appearing to be skipped, etc. 
Try making a text file that you *know* absolutely contains only
standard alpha-numeric characters and is, for example, 150K.  Then, see
if that file will send OK.  If that works, it is your 'message' not
PMMail.

If neither of these help, I'm kinda out of ideas.  Especially since I
use OS/2 and do not have either the problem, nor a way to test
anything.
