It's OK if you just send a link and the user on the other side knows
what to do with it. If it's in the middle of a real reply than it gets
confusing - most of all with mailer clients that use different color
etc. for quotes - people will probably miss the link as obsolete.

I'd go with the solution of 'Please PMMail, don't wrap strings starting
with http(s):// or ftp:// or similar.
