The whole idea of a 'deadline' is that it is an agreed upon
time for something to happen, and implies that all the players
agree to wait. Anyone who has been a successful proposal
manager in aerospace knows how hit deadlines on the button.
Prior to the deadline the proposal or report is usually in
chaos, with bits and pieces all over the place and many
important decisions hanging fire, awaiting for the overall
picture to clarify, and people are working 80-hour weeks.
We should have the goodness to sit down, shut up, and wait for
the deadline before bitching and whining. We probably won't
like it, but let's wait and see what the man has to say.
